Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design Window Display Competition
Newmarket boutique window displays will soon be reflecting light from shiny new ensembles taken from the 2009 collections of fourth year Whitecliffe College of Art & Design Bachelor of Fine Arts Fashion Students. During the week of June 22 store windows will be transformed into branding canvasses for students, as they create visual masterpieces to convey their collections desired intention, concept and their own designer image.
Now in it’s fifth year the Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design Window Display Competition is yet another fantastic initiative from one of New Zealand’s forward thinking fashion educators. The competition allows students to gain valuable experience in marketing and branding their collections within a real business environment, dealing with a real customer market.
This year window displays are assessed by a judging panel comprising of Creative Director of Purfex, Glen Wilkin-Holland, Professional Window Dresser, Ton van der Veer and Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design Fashion Department Faculty.
Participating stores include Kevin Berkhan, Taylor Boutique, Saks, Storm, Occhiali, Muse, Allium and Nicholson.
