To Blog or Not to Blog? Fashion Welcomes a New Media Kid to Town.
Kiss goodbye the weeks spent in earnest waiting to get your fave glossy fashion mag’ complete with the latest looks and fashion news. We welcome a new media kid to town, offering you a banquet of fashionable delicacies without the wait or cover price. Fun, frank and lightning fast at bringing you your fashion fix, she is the blogger.
With the rise of the blogger, fashion journalism and the speed in which people access information has come into a new age. Admittedly most of us love print and rounding up the girls (and guys), drinking coffee and poring over pages of eye candy is something that we each hold dear. But is this pastime verging on the edge of becoming obsolete?
As we embrace the technology age with it’s iPhone’s and Blackberry’s, we see fashion journalism being pushed from the newstand to our pocket and one has to ask; will we eventually wave goodbye to traditional forms of fashion media to make way for the phenomenon that is the blogger?
Our friends over at Thread have investigated this topic and asked our editor, Melody, her views on blogging and the influence it has had on how we view fashion journalism.
