Pinkee’s Pop-up at Plaything Gallery

Pinkee - Calypso PaoliaIt’s not often you see so many great New Zealand labels under one roof, and at bargain prices. But the Pinkee’s pop–up store offers just that, as well as some pretty pink vodka and a Cadbury pinkie bar, or three. The short-term Pinkee’s store had its debut at the Plaything Gallery on Dacre Street in Newton last Friday, stocking designers like Jimmy D, Salasai and Emma Ford.

Pinkee’s creator Kat Tua has worked with some of New Zealand’s top designers like Trelise Cooper and Kate Sylvester as well as starting her own label 1984.

Kat had old stock she wanted to get rid of and thought other designers might do as well, and so Pinkee’s was born. Kat says the concept is similar to the ANZFW garage sale, offering quality last season stock from a range of designers and all at sale prices.

The Newton store at Plaything Gallery opened last Friday for a limited time, next up is a Ponsonby based store, set to be a more permanent base for Pinkee’s. Once we get details of the new store, we will be sure to share this!
