Mango ‘Fight to the Finish’ Fashion Design Award Taking Entries

The Mango Fashion Awards are every designers dream competition. Now in it’s third edition, the award offers the chance to not only have your work judged by some of the biggest names in fashion (last year Oscar de la Renta was on the judging panel) but the overall winner walks away with the New Zealand equivalent to just short of $600,000.

Yes, you read correctly, that’s six-hundred-thousand-dollars or 300.000 €

Last year, Jaeha Alex Kim, one of our very own was a finalist. And as the fashion-tale goes Kim may not have one his share of half a million dollars but he did secure a contract to have his garments stocked in a plethora of Mango stores overseas.

How do I enter, you ask?
The entry requirements are that you must have produced at least two womenswear collections commercially and be able to produce evidence of this, details of which are all outlined in the rules that you can download below. The next step is designing ten womenswear outfits for spring/summer 2011.

The Mango awards offer a gargantuan amount of money that could easily arm a new or emerging designer with the means to be able to launch their brand globally. Get in quick as registrations close February 28th 2010 and these must be posted.
