Discovered Fashion Design Competition Winners Announced!
The Designer Direction ‘Discovered’ Fashion Design Competition was a bit of a whirlwind. We launched on a public holiday and then campaigned like mad people to get the word out and entries in. After seven days, nearly half a gig’ of images and a some last minute deadline changes – we have our winners.
There was a general consensus amongst our judges with a few of our winning entrants and Kirsha Whitcher of Salasai said she found selecting her top picks ‘…was easy and [the winning collections] stood out’
Chris and Rachelle Duffy of Idiom Boutique noted that their choices ‘had a little something to offer whilst maintaining a commercial viability about them’
These are pretty awesome statements about our winners and without further ado, we are pleased to announce that our three winners are;
- Victoria Green, Auckland
- Alana Bishop, Auckland
- Haylee Barry, Auckland
Yes, all three winners are from Auckland and no, we did not rig the competition! We had a huge response from designers all around New Zealand and our judges were not given the names or locations for any of our entrants as we wanted to make it fair.
To all of our entrants – a big huge thank you for taking the time to enter. If our Editor (who happens to be writing this) had the chance she would have given everyone a place. On the upside! we will be doing this all over again next year and bigger and better!
On a final note, we will be publishing the images from our Discovered photo shoot next week and then we would love for you to join us in campaigning to get our kiwi designers votes in the FashionTV Online Designer Award. More information is to come so keep checking back.
