NZFW Runway Report & Gallery: JimmyD AW11

Take away the hair and the make-up, minus the shredded up leggings and do away with the angst ridden scowls and you would reveal rather ethereal-wearable-feminine pieces.

A restricted palette of black and white, the only thing that could add dimension to the collection is ‘texture’ and ‘layering’.  Meshy textiles and feather-weight georgettes dominated maxi silhouettes and singlet dresses that were sheer winners.

Water-mark prints conveyed words that spread-out like roots, into the images of derelict infrastructure showing (now I may be wrong) spaceships patrolling the skies.  Delicate chains mark the trails in a web-like fashion.  Gothic references never looked so appealing.

Australia’s Next Top Model from cycle 3 – Alice Burdeu, took-out the award for her outstanding performance in working the runway.  With that flame-red hair and her inherent good looks, she carried the Jimmy D brand to a success.
